Additional Insured
Salon insurance glossary
Definition: An additional insured is a person or company — usually your landlord, salon owner, suite operator or event venue — added to your liability policy so they are protected for claims arising from your work or premises.
Why it matters for salons and spas
Commercial leases and salon suite agreements almost always require the landlord or operator to be named as additional insured. Booth renters are often asked to add the salon.
Example
A suite operator asks every tenant to name it as additional insured; your agent adds an endorsement and issues an updated certificate.
